what was ur guys best times with a stock svtf

i was wondering what times did u guys run on a 1/4 mile with a stock svt focus because i have a aem cold air intake with a 65mm bored throttle body and i was runin 16.3 thats bad isnt it i even had my dad give it a shot and he has been racing for a while

15.8@90mph havent ran it my mods yet...the key is the launch which is sometimes tricky wit our cars....i like to launch aroudn 3100-3500 works best for me but i still think my launch needs help for sure...

kylebal 09-25-2005 07:41 PM

that is exactly where i was lunching at i think maybe the computer isnt balancing out with the 65mm tb and the cold air intake becuase how can a stock svt do better than a svt with mods on it it just doesnt make cense. im just so amazed how slow it was i just dont under stand

15.3 @ 90 mph.... launched with t/c bogged ...bad clutch ... bone stock... with my mods now and with a switch for my t/c i could dip into the high 14's

FocusInAlaska 09-26-2005 01:33 AM

I ran a 15.35 @ 89mph. All stock with the t/c fuse pulled. Temp was about 70 and close to sea level. Track conditions were pretty good. 15.5 to 15.9 is pretty average for me.

10.6 in the 1/8.. im new at the track so i still need launching skills

CrispyBurn 09-26-2005 04:27 AM

wow, I feel bad... my best time was a 16.6... but I'm going to hope that was because it was hot and humid plus I had just gotten my new clutch... but engine wise it's stock

Hmmm pretty slow times. Of course FWD is difficult to launch. I want one of these cars but I doubt I will take it to the track. It's just not a drag car.

Exactly! And although I'm sure it can still be fun at the strip, if anyone does that anymore for pure fun, this car was bred for the road course and Auto-X. But I'm cool with that [thumb]

i've actually been to the 1/4mile track only once and that was like 1 year ago. i think i got like a 16.2 or something like that.
