focus zetec vs civic b18??
 
Hello guys

last night I raced against a guys with his civic. He told me that he have a b18 engine of 140hp?? I have a focus zx3 zetec with borla svt header r/t cat. He had an exhaust (2 1/4) and a p-flow. I won like 5-6 lenght of car... I did a search on google and I saw that a b18 have 180hp?? I want to know what is a b18?? hp?? is it a GSR engine?

if you beat him that badly, he most definately didnt have a swap at all.

b18b: the LS integra motor from 94-01 with 142hp/128trq(USDM)
b18c1: the GSR integra motor with 170hp/121trq(USDM)
b18c5: the Type-R integra motor with 190hp/130trq(USDM)

in order from top to bottom if its the JDM version:

145hp/127trq
180hp/126trq
200hp/134trq

If you beat him that badly i agree he probably didn't even have a swap, was it a coupe or a hatch? if he did have the b18b in a coupe that wouldnt really be quick at all, but usualy people with that swap do it for Ls vtec..... drool

yeah, i agree Jerbo. But seriously, hatch or coupe with even just the LS wouldnt lag that far behind his focus. If anything, it would be a drivers race. Getting beat by 5-6 cars would make me think its a coupe with a DX motor and a fartcan exhaust

Man I saw this one vid a while back, this dude had a type-r motor in his hatch. They did a close up of his tach, the dude was friggin revving up to like 11 grand. I was like WTh!! That's motorcycle territory, man. Racing with that mug has got to be a blast. [8D]

did you see under his hood? if so, how did his intake look? did it come out of the side of his intake mani or did it look like it connected by going straight down, then bending to the left?

good lord, 11k is sick! But that means that he's got a crap load of work done and im sure its a pain in the ass to hook up the hatch on a launch. I bet he begs to race from a roll lol

No way he had a swap, my bro has a CRX with b16 and he can run mid 11s in the 1/4. and yes... I second the ::drool:: effect. Salivation garonteeed. (spelled that wrong on purpose).
The only thing that ever confused me was that in one of the tuner mags I saw a CRX with a b16 swap and turbo, but for some reason way only running 14s. I guess the B16 breakdown above explains it. Different B16.
