MK1 Focus Blaupunkt stereo issue
This is a problem that has been occurring with my Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD/CDC/MP3 radio head unit for awhile now. If you hit the AM/FM button (to change between AM and FM1-FM2 or FM3) instead of swapping AM/FM it scans for other stations [dunno]
You can mash the button as hard as you can, it will not tune to AM.
I'd like to replace it with a whole new Blaupunkt stereo HOWEVER, I have discovered Ford made this exact head unit with TravelPilot navigation. It's apparently in Europe only, however. It looks like this:
It'd be nice to have navigation but would it work with an American Focus? Would it even have US maps? Or should I just change the whole stereo itself for a single or double DIN stereo.
Thanks for the help
Likely wont have the maps. not sure though. Might have to call up a dealer. They likely would have the maps on a CD installer or some other way.
but that navigation looks awful to today's standard. why not just use Google maps on a phone? always updated, color, likely better options, and aerial map views.
I would do yourself a favor and just buy an aftermarket headunit. Blaupunkts have a tenancy to constantly crap out after a while. My sister went through 4 in the life time of her owning the car and they were all replaced free of charge by the dealer.
