Has anybody seen this yet?

I was just searching through the pages of eBay looking for something good when this caught my eye. Anybody have any opinions/experience with this? Surely it isn't a direct swap on our non ST focii, I have read the conversion thread just as most of you have, I am sure, and it is a lot harder than dropping one and installing the other...

If it were direct I might contemplate snatching on up, the ST style is just sexy! [8D]

Very interesting and very cheap also

Looks like a straight swap to me,had titanium front off last week redoing plastidipped parts and looks like has the sub structure to mount to the body, all fixing points are there

only concern have is airflow to the radiator but looks like it should work

anyone goes for it put up some pics when doing it

From the others who have actually done the swap there is a little more involved than just swapping bumpers. There are a couple write ups for it too.

They didn't do it from this kit though, they ordered the stuff from ford. This may be different but I could be wrong.

The main difference is that this is most likely a cheap replica, but even if all the parts were there (missing the badges) you'd still have to remove the grilles to paint, and there was some wiring attachments that needed to be modified with the original parts. The real cost around $900 from Village Ford, plus getting them painted. However the genuine parts fit properly and don't require too much modification to fit, these copies aren't necessarily on the same level.

NOTE: Made by an ISO certified manufacturer

Or the quality is fine and you could have saved $400

If you say so, just because a factory is certified doesn't guarantee quality of pattern/ patent parts. Some are close like the replica ST wings, but others are not even close to fitting properly.

The proper parts are worth the cost, but you don't have to agree. If someone tries them and it works out they have a viable alternative, but this is to be determined.

This is the main reason I posted for everybody to check out. In my mind I am thinking there is absolutely no way it could be a direct swap after looking through all the conversion threads, but it does look like it has the same mounting points as the stock. I am curious enough I might venture out and grab one, but it is still a debate for the moment!

Guys, this is simple. Its a cheap knockoff by one of the manufacturers for generic body panel distributors. They make replacement non OEM parts all the time. From what I've seen, the body lines are usually not quite right, mounting.points may be weaker, and overall fit and finish is sub-par.

In short, you get what you pay for.

If it doesn't fit you get your money back from ebay. People in this thread act like you're getting totally effed over by purchasing something that isn't factory. Ebay buyer protection is pretty rock solid. You paid $900? Good for you.

$900 for a lot more than comes with just this replacement bumper... Fog lights and fasteners for instance.
