Hs anyone attempted changing the thermostat "assembly" out on one of these yet? Looks like it could be a pain. If so how much was intailed in doing so. Thanks!

I'll assume you are talking about the HVAC unit? First time was a pain, but I've done it so many times now that it takes me 10 minutes to take off the complete console then it's just about unscrewing the unit from the face plate.

No, he's talking about the thermostat... lol

Easy if you have the proper tools. Time consuming if you dont.

How much did it cost? I was looking at replacing the thermostat on mine ... but it seems that the thermostat is like $150 and is part of the housing?

Joemoseley 08-03-2013 01:07 AM

Yea you can't service just the thermostat you have to change the whole housing as an assembly. You either have a housing without a sensor or a housing with a sensor. Without the sensor it is 65$ with the sensor it is 260$ it comes with a seal for the housing and everything already installed.

Miller88 08-03-2013 09:41 PM

Can I buy the housing without sensor and swap it in, or do I have to check and then go from there?

Joemoseley 08-04-2013 12:27 AM

Well, Your car either has a housing with a sensor, or a housing with no sensor. It's a bit hard to see if yours has a sensor installed or not, but you can see with a mirror and a flashlight.
