Best tires for AutoX and Daily use?

I have a new 2013 Focus SE and went to my first AutoCross this past weekend. First off, man I love this car and the way it handles stock! However, I still have the stock ContiProContact tires (16" aluminum rims, 215) and i was chirping my tires at almost every single turn. I don't see these tires lasting too long after reading reviews, and am interested in upgrading the tires. However I do daily drive the focus, so i don't want tires dedicated to autocross and looking for tires that have some life length to them as well (also for bad weather). Anyone have any experience or suggestions? Thanks!

No experience in bad weather with these but I am very happy with the Goodrich Sport Comp 2's I recently added to my car. I use it mainly for autocross but also drive it around town once or twice a week just for fun.

BF GOODRICH COMP 2 I drive them on the street and auto X them and love them

Or you could get BFGoodrich KDW2's. I've heard great things about these but never gotten a set... they are on the list, though!

Short of a specific streetable-light-track-duty (see above) compound you're gonna get some noises. I used Falkens for the first few years, they're cheap; but only sticky-like-new the first season.

You'll always have a compromise between a tire that will work well at autox and a tire that will work well on the street.

If you push a comfortable street tire at numerous autox's you will often start to see things like extreme wear on the outer edges, heavy feathering and even chunking of tread.

A dedicated autox tire that will perform will on course will have compromises in ride comfort, rain capability and have zero chance in snow/ice on a daily basis.

A common solution is to find some cheap used stock wheels and slap on some dedicated autox rubber. Just giving you the idea, but it will depend on your budget and how serious you get into the sport.

thanks for all the help. I'm undecided cuz i do want to get new tires, and these procontacts only have a couple thousand miles on them. but i know theyre going to crap out on me eventually so just debating whether to get separate tires/rims for autox n ride these, or get a better overall rain/snow tire thatll still have decent grip while autoxing a couple times a year

I like the Comp-2 suggestions. I ran the original BFG G-force sports on my focus and loved daily driving on them from spring to fall, with a few auto-x's added in. Now I have a set of Comp-2's on my mustang and theyre even better than my last set. rain traction is excellent, even with the 275 width I have and they stick like crazy.

as with any summer tire theyre poop below freezing and poop in the snow
