bigger oil filter for duratec 2.0?

I thought I read it somewhere, but can't find it in a search. Is there a bigger capacity oil filter I can use for my 2005 2.0?

Why you need a bigger oil filter? You can try the zetec 2.0l filter, I think the thread is the same.
I don't think it's a good idea, the filter will be closer to the ground, same height of the bumper.

how much longer is the FL400s then the 910s? also thinking about the FL842 but it doesn't have a bypass valve so that might not be a good idea.

Just use a quality brand filter and change your oil regularly. Your 2005 has never used a larger filter, why start now?

was just thinking a little extra oil capacity would be nice and extra filtering couldn't be a bad thing.

Boy I sure dunno about putting something as thin shelled as an oil filter right on the same crunch line as the pan is. Something ALWAYS eventually gets up there to scrape things. You can hit things all day long that make noise but do no real harm to oil pan and trans case but oil filter???? NUUOOOOOOO....................

As long as the thread pitch and o-ring one up should be able to run a bigger filter. I run a FL1A filter equivalent, granted it is mounted between bulkhead and engine. Some aftermarket filters feel heavier and thicker like the k&n or mobil1 filters.

They have thicker shells for burst protection.
