BFG Comp Sport 2 discussion

I just wanted to give a short review of these tires. I've just bought the tires from Tirerack in 205-50x16 mounted on the lightweight Kazera wheels and really like them so far. My ZX3 has the SVT suspension, and adjustable camber plates and bolts, these have made a huge difference in street driving, very quick turn in, dry traction is way better than the previous Falkens I had, and they are even reasonably quiet.

I'll get a chance to try them at autocross on July 14th so I'll know more then, but at least as a street tire I would rate them as excellent for the money.

I love it!

Glad you're happy with them, and from what I hear they actually get better as they get more broken in. Make sure to head to the website and fill out a review if you'd like. If you have an account you can actually add to the review as you put more miles on them.

Thanks again for the kind words, and let me know if you need help with anything in the future.

I bought them because they're made in the USA.

Pretty sure you'll like Auto-X on them. Once you get some heat into them they stick even better. Very predictable tire. Starts to howl on the very ragged edge of traction loss.

I was going to get this tire but decider on a tire with a treadware warranty. The Potenza RE970as. Still very grippy.

One more thing. I thought I heard on Tireracks YouTube page that this tire tends to wear rough on the outside edges because the edge of the tread is cut more square rather than rounded. Not sure if that makes sense. But something to watch out for.

Ran my first autocross using the tires and I am very pleased. Wound up with pressures at 40/36 and that seems to use up the right amount of tread. Very predictable tires and seems like quite a lot of grip.

I like my set. Very nice in the wet, and they don't hydroplane too easy. Haven't been able to break them free on the street...not that I do much crazy ish on the street.

Noisy as hell when I first got them, but much better now. Still some excessive noise when travelling over small bumps and such, but not bad.

Well that's a nice gesture. Unfortunately the new Focus doesn't even crack the top 10 of made-in-America cars so the tires are, as they say, "down in the noise".

A Houston member on FF I haven't met. You just missed out on a group meet we had last Saturday.

Think a fellow member is Houston area 71shadow got these tires. He likes them but doesn't think they have as good of traction in the wet as the Continental DW tires he had b4. I will need to get tires within the next month or so and am debating about staying with Continental DW tires I have or trying something different. I've had no complaints about the DWs so far.
