Quiet Tires

I am big into car audio and music so I am looking for quiet tires to put on my 2010 SES Sedan. I was looking at the Altimax HP, they seem to have decent ratings for noise but was wondering if there's any other reasonably priced tires that would be quietter?

The HP would be a good choice, but what size are you running? 205/50R16?

Top of the line would be the Michelin Primacy MXM4 - $133/tire

Otherwise the General HP would be available still at $98/tire

The Michelin is way too expensive, anything else more around the Altimax HP price? Or are the Michelin Primacys really that much better of a tire?

I just took off my General AS03, I always thought they were too loud.

I put on a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports and all I can say is wow. Just drove to the Ford Nationals and Back on them, about 1,000 miles in 2 days. They are hands down the Quietest tire I have ever owned. I wish I would have found these sooner. And ride quality was the best I have ever felt. The whole time I was driving I kept thinking about how quiet and smooth they were and my wife who could care less about cars even noticed a huge difference.

I honestly will never buy a different set of tires. These will go on every car I own.

By the way I never bough them before because they were so expensive but you really get what you pay for with them. Worth every penny.

There is a reason they put this tire on some of the most expensive performance cars in the world.

I will throw in the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric as well, betwenn the Altimax HP, Michelin Primacy MXM4 and the Goodyear what strikes the best balance between performance, noise and lifetime.

Nevermind, got the Primacy MXM4 for $104/ea from Discount Tire. Out the door for ~$620 installed and the $70 Michelin gift card and $30 Discount Tire Prepaid Visa. Very good price for these.

What do you think of them?
