Ford Racing cold air snorkel??

Has anyone see this? Looks like it will fasten right up to where the snorkel on our standard MK3 is (isn't the ST's intake box/system the same?). I guess it just gets the air from lower down than the snorkel delete setup?

I missed your post, so I started a new thread that has the link to the Ford Racing Parts catalog item. The site has the installation instructions, which require some drilling on the ST.

Here's the link to the instructions, the opening on the driver's side above the radiator appears to be the same as the non-turbo models. That's the same place where our car's snorkel used to be. The price is kind of high, specially if you have a K&N or Green Filter already in your car.

Cool! Definatley validation as someone mentioned of this mod. I feel like you could take the OEM snorkle, cut it, and use the base that attaches to the radiator support as the basis for a homemade snorkel. I like the cut out the instruction show better than yanking out the whole thing like some have done as I am sure it serves a purpose to the cooling system. Kind of like the Newmission mod I have seen. Good stuff. What a rip off for what amounts to a K&N filter you can get for under $50 and a plastic piece of ducting.

I would love to have that scoop, but holy crap Ford-what were you thinking? $200+? That's just insane for what you're offering!

Does anyone think that adding the ST inlet snorkel vs. just having an open hole in the radiator support after the snorkel delete is a good thing? Seems like thizbpart is a direct fit and shouldn't cost much at the dealer.

I think it's a good thing and would put one on my car in a heartbeat, but not for the price quoted above. I would even recommend that scoop for the Steeda and Typhoon systems.

Sorry Dyn, I meant the stock ST snorkel shown on the installation diagram in the link above that gets replaced. Can't cost more than $10 and keeps thing looking factory under there.

I'm on my phone and for whatever reason can't download the installation instructions. I had heard that the ST didn't have a snorkel...[confused]

I'll check it out on my computer when I get near it. I would have to imagine that a ST snorkel would be designed to flow better given the boosted application, but that is merely conjecture based on not having actually seen the part...

Holy crap, I finally saw it. I can't believe that they have you take off the entire bumper-cover! I can see how it makes the cutting simpler, but damn...

Anyways, I see the ST 'snorkel' (or lack thereof). I don't think it would benefit, but I don't think it would hurt either. *Maybe* the smoother transition would be better, but I don't think it would matter in either direction.
