Question about grille fit

Hello,

I drive a 2011 Focus SEL and am kind of getting tired of all the chrome on the car. I have thought about plastidipping it or maybe even painting it black. I have noticed that SES models have a blacked out grille instead of the chrome. So, instead of painting or plastidip, could I simply order a replacement SES grille? Or would there be a fitment issue between the SES grille and the SEL model?

I have the same question about the chrome door handles.

Thanks!

It took 10 minutes and $5 to black out my SE grille. I also plasti-dipped my wheels. Looks good for me.

everything will be a direct fit. However plastidip is a much cheaper option, and you can do it today!

I used Plasti Dip as the primer for my grille, then blacked it out with a color match spray can. Threw some clear over it to protect it some, and it looks pretty nice. Not nearly as shiny as the SES but I like it and it was much cheaper.

I did the same thing only I did clear only over plastidip and wetsanded and polished it after. It didn't come out bad for never having done it before, aslong as you doint get right up on it you cant tell it isn't automotive painted. My grille probably would have been a deeper black if I'd done like Snyper did. But it works and was pretty easy. ... I don't like the stock ses dark grille because its kinda of warm charcoal metallic- but it all depends on what youre going for. The stock dark grill looks good with the stock dark (not black) headlights.

I also plasti-dipped mine, I never finished sanding it smooth however. But if you don't feel like painting, I know Rockauto.com has a black replacement for about $47
