Is 'ANY' water leaking acceptable?

I went through an automatic carwash rather than washing the car myself yesterday and when the high pressure sprayers were hitting the rear window and basically shooting right under the rear spoiler I noticed water dripping from the hatch trim onto my hatch divider. It doesn't leak from the rubber though. And this does not happen from rain or using a hose and washing the car myself. Is this acceptable or should I bring it in?

Did it leak into the car? If so yes very much unacceptable regardless of water pressure I have not had that issue.

And the amount of water that leaked inside until the car was done with the air dryers was more than just a drip but not a ton. Probably when it started was like 1 drip a second and slowed after the sprayer moved to another spot and continued to drip at around one drop per 20 seconds or so.

Ya it leaks inside the car. Only the second automatic carwash the Focus has ever seen and the first time it happened.

You should probably get that checked out. lol

Horizontal rain is one thing and a high pressure sprayer is another. Check hatch seal for tears, breaks, or imperfections. If there is a fault than the dealer can do something.

just a kind word, but auto car washes are very bad for ur car. it scratches the paint and some use harsh chemicals that can harm the clear coat. dirt gets stuck in the brushes and then it sratches ur car.

I could be wrong, but I think this was a touch-less car wash.

But for anyone that still uses the ones with brushes - for the love of God, don't.

Probably get it checked out. But also realize when you have high pressure streams, it wouldn't be uncommon for a leak to pop up, seals are generally not tested for that kind of pressure.

Ya, touchless car wash. Never would I go to one with brushes.

Also, just took it to the dealer. They said that some minor leakage may happen from a high pressure car wash but if it's alot then I can make an appointment to have it leak tested but they'd need the car for a whole day. They took a look and so did I, couldn't quite find anything out of the ordinary or anything.

It has never leaked before so I'll keep an eye on it next time I get a car wash, if it leaks again I'll take it in.
