PS pump removal
I need to know if there is a trick to remove the hard line from the PS pump so I can remove it from the engine bay and get to my t-stat housing (my main job).
To date I removed: belt, PS reservoir, light housing, sensor connector and 2 bolts of the PS pump. I put a small wrench on the nut of the hard line and pull has hard has I can, but it wont move.
Thanks for the help, I need to get this done so my wife can have her car back.

Removal and Installation
NOTE: The thermostat and thermostat housing are serviced as an assembly.
Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 .
Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section 303-05 .
NOTE: LH shown, RH similar
Remove the two power steering hose bracket retaining nuts and position the hose and brackets aside.
Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud—2.3L in this section.
Remove the four A/C compressor bolts and position the compressor aside.
Remove the hoses to the thermostat housing.
Release the spring-style clamps.
Twist and remove the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
Remove the bolts, the thermostat housing and the thermostat as an assembly.
NOTE: Lubricate the thermostat housing O-ring with clean engine coolant.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.

Back to the power steering pump:
There is no trick to the hardline, other than make enough room for yourself and use a flare nut wrench. (6-point box end wrench with slot cut out).
I can position a 6'' wescot wrench on it, but I'm afraid I'll break something when pulling. Guess I'll have to try harder [:)] and maybe find me a flare nut wrench (18mm)
I will use that t-stat writeup, but my engine is the 2.0, should be similar.
Just an FYI... I just swapped out my thermostat last weekend. Remove the belt. The there a 4 bolts holding that p.s. Pump On. The one behind the line will be the last bolt to come off. I was able to get an open end wrench on that bolt and thread it off. With out removing the line. The oil reservoir will just pop off the pump when the top to bolts are off.... Just take it off and drain it to get it out of the way. This is a PITA I spent maybe an hour and half on that bolt getting it out then back in. but it is possible. :eek:
