Snap, crackle, pop!!!
Hey, guys and gals,
I just lowered my 2007 Focus ST, 48,XXX miles onto FRPP ZXM1 lowering springs, retaining the stock SVT shocks. Now, I get a crap load of creaking, popping and crackling when I turn the steering wheel at low speeds, and sometimes and moderate speeds. The popping can be super loud, so it really is annoying. Does anyone know if this is the strut bearing doing this? I re-used my strut bearings, because there was no noise prior to lowering the car. Any thoughts? Thanks, |
could be strut bearings. I would verify that your endlinks are tight and that they are not worn out.

Plan to replace the shocks/struts soon, too. SVT shocks/struts aren't designed for use with those shorter springs, that is why Ford makes matching, FRPP shocks/struts for the FRPP springs

Damn , hopefully i dont run into this issue! Just ordered my frpp kit . But ill be using the frpp springs as well

SVT springs can handle a mild to moderate drop though I wouldn't go 2" or lower with them. Sounds like upper strut mount bearings to me.
