Knock sound from stop when accelerator pedal is depressed

Hi everybody
I just bought a 2005 focus with 80,000+ miles and am very happy with it. However over the last few days , from stop, there is a knock sound on depressing the accelerator pedal . There is no similar sound once the car is moving and the pedal is subsequently depressed. It only happens from start. When the engine is off, depressing the pedal does not cause the sound.
I would appreciate suggestions on how to remedy this.

Starting from a standstill = applying torque. Have a peek at your engine mounts (passenger side in particular - is Singapore LH or RH drive? Anyway, the one above the crank pulley) and look for wear/hydraulic fluid leaks. Check for excessive wear in suspension components, such as lower control arm ball joints, struts bearings, etc.
If the knock is loud, finding a dry, shiny polished metal joint with lots of play shouldn't be difficult.

THanks for the prompt reply.
we're right hand drive here.
The sound disappeared after about 20 miles of driving ??
It was not there initially, appeared, since this morning, it disappeared again?
Just a bit worried that there might be something major.

I'm closing this thread since you made another one talking about the same problem. Most likely it's the lower dogbone mount.
