Need some input on SVT purchase

Hey guys/gals,
Its been a while since I have visited the site. I sold my SVT a couple years back and miss my "mighty mouse" (friends nickname for her). I found a 2003 SVT on craigslist for $5800 with 67k miles on it. The car holds a salvage title, and would like your guys'/gals' input on it.
Post claims that the salvage was given because of a bumper replacement (bs i think). Also claims to have new aftermarket headlights (HIDs I believe). It does not have the EAP package, has red seat inserts. I have the add posted below. The asking price is higher than Excellent condition according to KBB, which is definitely not going to fly. Please tell me what you think she is worth and for those who have/had salvaged, front end focus', please let me know what I may be in for. Thank you for your time

Thank you all again for your time and input!

Def need more pics to judge

If you can, get a possible CarFax on this. Definitely request more pictures. If you decide to still go look at this, make sure it is during the day and during the week so you can take it to a mechanic to have it inspected thoroughly. Good luck on this.

im waiting on some pics as of now. talked to the couple who own the SVT, and it seems like their not willing to negotiate much as of now... we will see....

thing about an svt is it doesn't matter what kbb says, they are getting harder to find every day as you know. but, a salvage makes it less desirable.
check with your insurance about insuring a salvage vehicle before taking another step. some will, some won't, and some have stipulations. Don't buy and then have an oh shit moment.
definitely have it checked out thoroughly before making a decision, use carfax but take it with a grain of salt since I've found not everything is on them anymore.

I purchased an 02 SVT with reworked frame damage from a front end collision that you could easily see by looking under the hood. The repair looked legit and it drove great. For reference he was asking $4,800 and it had about 75-80k miles on it. It had the cold weather package with heated seats and moonroof but it was not EAP. I got it for $4500, and this was back in 2008. The front fascia was from a regular ZX3 so I guess that might drop the price slightly. So based on that, I would say $5,800 is a bit much.

Definitely check out the carfax but don't rely on it fully as GreenEnvy said and have a mechanically enclined friend check it out with you if you don't feel comfortable assesing it yourself. My SVT treated me well and my current car is a salvage and has been great to me, you just need to know what to look for. Good luck man!

Edit: Oh and check out why that damn front tire is flat...

With a salvage title, I wouldn't be willing to pay more than half what they're asking. The SVT is getting rare, but not rare enough to have to settle for a salvaged one. I'd say be patient and wait for a nicer (and cheaper) one to pop up.

waaaay overpriced for a salvage. Im getting ready to sell mine, and im only going to ask $6500, even with all the mods/new engine.

i agree too high of price to take the risk with a salvage title

I own a perfectly functional 2003 salvage title SVT, and I still fully agree with the above. Salvage means any number of horrific things could be wrong with it. It might be perfectly fine, but it is not up to YOU to assume that risk. Wait until the price is ridiculously low, or look elsewhere. I was lucky, but you shouldn't risk it. There are plenty of good SVTs out there.
