Dash lights help ??????????????? (after stereo install)
[rant]iv recently had a stereo system - stork adapter and speakers fitted in my car by halfords - i noticed last night that my dash is very dim. it was bright before the stereo was fitted - have moved the dial to brightern it but doesnt work as good as before -
Do you think this could of been affected with what halfords have done with my stereo and stork adapter. |
I do not know what a 'stork adapter' is
But unlucky you if that outfit cut into your wire harness |
Stork adapter is paddles - That's what u use on ur steering wheel to control ur stereo x volume

Lights on the stereo are usually hooked to the dash lighting circuit, so it's not at a constant "bright" level.
The new stereo MIGHT draw quite a bit more power for it's lighting than the previous unit. Does the stereo lighting work properly with the dash lights? If so, and IF you get adequate lighting with the new setting, there may not be anything "fixable". Otherwise it's time to question the installer. They did do something related to dash lighting, and you don't want lights so dim they can't be seen properly. |
This is why we should never outlaw firearms entirely.
I agree with Sailor. Something must have been done wrong with the install. I am going to move this to Car Stereo and Electronics. Those guys know all the issues with stereo installs, and can help you better than people in Tech chat where we are more familiar with engine troubles, and recalls. |
