Some people suck

I haven't driven my focus in about a month because I'm borrowing my sister's car for the bad weather...

Today I go out to my car and find this on the passenger side front door. It's doesn't seem that deep, but it is very noticeable (albeit the pictures aren't that easy to see) and I don't know if I can buff it out myself.
The scratches are horizontal, about 1/3 of an inch long and there are many of them stacked vertically in about a 3 inch "line." Then there is another scratch a little more than an inch in front of it. Only thing I can think of is either they opened their door into my car or scraped a coat, purse, bag, or other object on my car.

Only "good" thing is since I park in a garage, there is only one couple who parks next to me so I know exactly who to talk to.

Ugh!

That should come out with some 2k sand paper compound and polish then re wax look for a good auto detailer in your area if your not comfortable doing the work. Go to autogeek.net and post looking for a detailer in your area. I know of a few in NY

Damn shame, that. I hope you get some satisfaction from your "neighbors", if in fact there is no one else who might have used their space without their knowledge, if that's even possible. Good luck.

That should be able to come out rather easy with some cutting compound. When you get it wet does it almost disappear?

I was at my parents with all the nieces and nephews outside playing around the cars, and one of them dragged their coat jacket all across my hood, putting a streak of gashes into the clear. I was able to get it mostly buffed out using ScratchX. I don't have any cutting compound right now to do the job properly.

I would try wax before anything but people dont give a crap about other peoples property

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to try them out. I figure it's not too hard of a thing to fix, it's just really annoying to see on a garage-parked 3 month old car with ~300 miles on it. [:(]

Hopefully my neighbors are willing to at least meet me half-way with this...

You're expecting your neighbors to not only admit to this but also pay half?

hilarious! [hihi]

^lets see if someone gets this [giddy]

In reality though they probably are not gonna admit to it; but hey they could be good people if they did do it, you never know!

Hope all goes well [:)]
