Recommend First Improvement Modification
 
Hey guys I am new to the site and have just purchased my new 2013 SE. What first recommendations would you all have for performance modifications. I relatively don't know that much about cars but want to learn. Please list the following info with your recommendation.

1) Est. Cost
2) Est. Installing Time & Difficultly

I'm interested to see where this one goes. I am also looking for some performance mods tips from people. I personally have done a lunchbox delete, getting rid of the back resonator. Its super easy and quick.

An intake should be everyones first mod IMO. Its very easy to do, and only takes basic hand tools to install. If you can follow directions you can install an intake.

they can be found from $180 to $300 for our cars. And can take anywhere from 15min to an hour to install depending on the intake and skill level.

I have done a drop in filter in mine. I am running without the top cover on. I'm saving up for now until I can buy a CAI.

At the risk of sounding dumb may I ask why?

It opens up the exhaust a bit more to help release some power, plus it sounds better.

I am correct in thinking that any modifications would end my warranty coverage?

Just for clarification the lunch box delete is the rear muffler not the resonator. Did you do both.

Actually the rear lunch box is not a restriction to engine power in any way on these cars, so its all for making the car louder and depending on your tolerance making it much more annoying.

Any modifications to the exhaust system would only modify the warranty on the exhaust system and the engine if and only if it can be proven to cause the damage to the rest of the vehicle or power train system.

I didn't realized I was in the MK3 section. You said warranty it threw me off. I was thinking I was in the first gen like when people do the lunch box delete on the SVT.
