Mk2 focus experienced opinion needed
 

Hello, I have a 2010 ford focus with a k&n air intake and a catback stagger pipe. I really want to make my car faster and iv been looking at the headers and fswrks programmer. My main question is to what extent will the programmer improve performance. Will the programmers benefits be noticeable? About how much time will be knocked off my 0-60

A simple tune wont yield much. Maybe shave a tenth off.
If your looking to be quicker youll have to stiffen it up, loose weight, and go forced induction.

So a suspension kit would help me out more?

Will allow to corner faster saving you gas and increasing your exit speed. A stiffer suspension will not dive under breaking shortening your stopping distance and will keep the weight from transfering backwards as you accelerate keeping presure on the front tires allowing you to accelerate quicker.

I am primarily concerned with a straight highway take off , like dragging Chevy cobalts and Honda civics haha. Would a header be a better option? And thank you very much for responding to my inquirys

A shorty header will give a bumb in torque but youll need a tune to take advantage of it. Might as well add an intake then tune it for premium fuel. all said maybe 20hp/lbft for a grand....

I already have a air intake and catback. So the header would only help if I had the car tuned?

you can add a header with out a tune... will see some improvements but a tune is where you will see real gains after everything is installed

I would highly suggest not running your header without a tune. For one you will ahve a CEL error code because when you install the header you remove the secondary o2 sensor. When you get a tune it will disable this sensor. Also your tune will be specific to your modifications.. Don't waste your money on the header if you aren't going to get a tune also.
While the tune alone will make you a little faster that is not the main thing it does contrary to what everyone thinks. It makes your car run more EFFICIENT for whatever specific parameters you want it to. For example, 93 octane, header, intake, exhaust, etc. Do yourself a favor and save up enough money for the header, an FSwerks intake, and the SCT tuner. or buy them as people post them to the Buy sell trade forum.
I'm not going to go into detail about the k&n intakes and filters.... But sell it and buy either a steeda or FSWerks cool flo.
