finding the right fuse?

Hey guys,

I have my amp and sub set up working now... but not exactly how I want it. I have the remote wire tied into the power wire and I just use a switch.

So.. Im sick of this switch lol... Its just a pain in the ass, so I bought an add a fuse so I could just connect remote wire into the fuse box. I tried adding the fuse to "sync" and headlights. The sub is still constantly on even when keys are not in ignition. Am I using the wrong fuse or whats wrongs lol? I want it to turn on when car is on.

i'm assuming this is all hooked up to the factory headunit right? just wanted to make sure.

i'm not a fan of using fuse taps, but if you want to, try number 28 or 29. those two look like they are ign powered. i would personally recommend doing an inline fuse and tapping on to the acc wire from the ignition.

I've never used an inline fuse before besides the power wire. I'm pretty new to this stuff, so that's why the fuse tap seemed like a good idea to me.. It was straight forward. Why is it that you don't prefer them?

Thanks for the reply!

Also, this is all hooked up to main head unit lol

they aren't the most secure connection and you run a higher risk of overloading a vehicle circuit or shorting something out if that metal hits something. that and to do it properly you need to make sure you hook up to the correct side of the fuse which not everyone does. if you get the wrong side of the fuse then you aren't actually using the fuse.

This^
follow kipps suggestions here and do it the right way(=
It will save you alot of hassle in the future and you don't have to worry about it failing

Then what is the right way lol? So I tap into an accessory wire but which one? I tried taping in before but the amp still would stay on even without the keys in ignition.

Thanks again

look for a purple/green wire from the ignition switch. that's the acc wire. use an inline fuse and solder on to the acc wire and run through the fuse then to you amp turnon

i do always recommend to get a meter and test the wire before you connect to it as well. never know if it's different for some reason.
