Lowered and bumpstops
What do you do about your rear bumpstops when running big drops?
I have about 1" of travel before hitting the rear stops. Im really getting tired of hitting them. Do you guys remove them? Add smaller ones? How do they come off? Thanks |
So in my past experiences, mostly with mustangs, i end up cutting the stock bumpstop in half. I did this on my 2011 and it had full suspension done. It was also causing me not to be able to launch properly when at the track, since the car would hit the stock height bump stops.
I just recently added the Eibach sportlines to my 13 sedan, but i did not cut the rear bump stops yet. I want to see/hear how often they do bottom out, if at all, before cutting them. Worst case is you buy new bump stops and swap them out with cut ones. You dont want to remove them completely because when you do bottom out, it will sound horrible and cause damage in the long run. Metal on metal contact is NO BUENO. Those are my 2 cents. |
