Trading in foci at 30,000 miles??

So, browsing through craigslist, one of my ways of passing time I guess haha, I have noticed that almost all of the used 2012 focuses on there all have right at 29 or 30,000 miles, and I can't figure out why

Are people just not happy with the trans, or is there another reason people are trading them in right at that mileage? Not an urgent issue, I just find it strange

Probably leases that ended

Rental fleet turnover is usually around 26-32000 miles. That sounds like there is a glut of ex-rental cars on your local craigslist at the moment.

There really aren't that many privately sold (retail) units being exchanged at the 30,000 mile mark, but rental fleets tend to keep the cars for about 1 year or 30k and then get another new one.

Its unlikely to be lease turnover as unless they were very early 2011 build 2012 models they would not likely be coming up on two years yet, the minimum typical lease, and that seems like high mileage for a lease at 12k/year average for a lease.

The warranty expires at 36k miles. Drivetrain is good until 60k.

Interesting. Now, is there a way to tell if it was previously a rental? I have enough youtube experience to know that is a bad idea XD When I buy mine in the spring, I will probably go with a used model, is that wise?

If I could do it over again and have someone else lose all that money by buying new, you're damn right I would.

Ikr? I don't need a car payment right now, about to head off to college, so thats why I would go used. I've seen some that are dropping for 13-14K right now, so I think that would be a pretty good deal for a reliable (mostly from what I've heard haha) car that gets good gas mileage and has low(ish) miles

bumper to bumper warranty

I would get a new '13...the incentives are great just dont get Titanium

I would shy away from any '12 with an automatic. Actually you should just buy the manual altogether lol

Tell me about it.

Note: I own an early 2012 Titanium with the DCT.[nono]

Side Note: Kona blue is still the best color on this car, period.
