Need more transmission help 2008 automatic.
 

Finally got a code. P0751 & P0752. I replaced solenoid "A" like the how to said. It was easy and the how to was exceptional. Problem is I am still having the engine surging like the trans is "hunting" and the hard downshifts. It's a 2008 SE with auto trans. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can find used, bench tested, complete valve bodies with all six solenoids for under $100 on ebay.

What led you to believe the problem was solenoid-A originally?

Just reading on here and the codes. Took it to the best transmission shop in Arkansas today. They checked it out. We have to get it rebuilt. The band that operates second and fourth is out. I've worked with this shop for about 30 years. Family friends. If there are two fixes, one os $150 and the other is $2,500, mine will always be the $2,500. Lol

Did the replacement of the 2-4 band work for you or not? I have similar issues.

I am just going to replace the transmission. I can get one from e-bay for $500 shipped to my door. The trans shop will not just replace a band. They rebuild it all for $2,500. Right now I am turning my overdrive off and it works fine. Cuts my mpg down to about 30-32 but it's getting me by. I can do a lot of labor myself for $2,000.

We always replace all the solenoids at out shop! A lot of tech(Identifix, Itan, ect...)services recomend this for best results. Honestly I would do this first.

Got me a new (used) transmission and got it in. Cost me around $750 with the 7 quarts of trans fluid and new filter. Also had to replace a "vent" tube that's hidden behind the intake. You break this part when you remove the intake and dont know this vent tube is there. Lol. Also had to replace the intake manifold gaskets. All in all much cheaper than rebuilding my old one. Hopefully this one will last.
