Leather Steering Wheel and Shift Knob
I recently bought a 2013 SE Hatch, and the plastic steering wheel has to go. The ST wheel is considerably cheaper than a non-ST leather wheel. Best I can tell, the ST wheel (w/o Nav) should work. Has anyone done it already?
Also, I'd like a leather shift knob similar to the factory knob. There is only one listed on fordparts.com, and it's not clear that it's leather. Plus, it's expensive ($192 MSRP). There are leather knobs for the Fiesta on accessories.ford.com that look similar. Does anyone know if they will fit (hopefully with the same boot interface)? |
I believe that the SE "sport" package includes(ed) the leather wrapped steering wheel and shift handle. Maybe you can find one in the junkyard or maybe its cheaper than a Ti or ST wheel.

The non-ST leather wheel (SE w/ Sport or Appearance, SEL) is more expensive than the ST wheel. Finding a used one didn't seem worth the hassle, given all the different wheel variations out there. I went ahead and ordered the ST wheel (and Fiesta shift knob). We'll see...

How much was the ST wheel? If you don't mind me asking..

$145 from Tousley

wow really?! I wonder if that comes with the buttons and everything. It would be awesome if the s model only needed the buttons for the cruise control to work. I know that's a long shot and that it is almost never that easy but hey it could be right?

Let us know. This is the biggest complaint i have about the focus. After driving my m5 the steering wheel in my se feels like a toy.

The wheel should arrive tomorrow, so I may get it installed over the weekend. Does anyone have a link to MK3 steering wheel removal info?

I was looking into doing this as well, please keep us posted and if you could throw up a link to the ST steering wheel you purchased, having a hard time locating it [???:)]
