Oh lawd the Fo's a handling machine now

On the way up to the Blue Ridge mountains this morning for work, i finally got a chance to push the focus with the 18"s kumho ecstas and my steeda sway bar and need i say more. The car performed EXCELLENT. My buddy that was in the car with me was really amazed of the absence of huge tire squeal and how neutral and flat the car was when i was going dangerously too fast through some real nice roads. Compliments to steeda and there products, im now waiting for my struts to come in and the Eibach pro-kit goes in. Pictures coming soon! -TamF

What model ecstas? I had some asx's on my 09 and I loved them.

What kind of struts did you get?

Also I really need to get the Steeda bar before going to the Dragon in the summer.

Ya the Titanium with handling package (the original one) destroys corners like a pro. I took turns and corners in that thing that I wouldn't have dreamed of taking in the 335i with sport package. It sticks to the road like glue and has virtually no roll at all.

Very impressed with that portion of the car. Can't speak to the 4-door, but the hatch is a handling dream.

Something tells me that a 335i Sport would gobble up just about everything you tossed at it.

??? [scratch]

My experience has been that some tires are quieter/noisier than others under hard cornering.

Glad you're enjoying those tires and wheels, amigo. [:)]

awesome...tires make so much of a difference and this car handles so effing well right off the bat. tempted to get the Steeda just to see if it feels different from all the recommendations here, worth it?

I was able to spend some time on the Blue Ridge Parkway coming back from Wintergreen last month. Great road, especially when traffic is light. This was my first trip down it in the Focus.

I'm planning on the Steeda rear bar soon. I'll be interested to hear how you like it over time -- and if it becomes noisy. I had one of their bars on my 05 Focus and it worked great, but was annoying. I still feel like it was worth the trade-off, though ...

When my tires wear out (I only have 5k miles on my car), I also plan to replace them with the Kuhmo 4X. I've heard mostly positive things. ... I will, however, just be buying a set for my factory 16" alloys.
