My 2012 SE Sport's "Spa" Day at Steeda Autosport

I purchased my 2012 SE, 5 door with Sport Package and optional 16" Sport rims back in May 2011. It replaced my Colorado quad cab Z71 that was costing me a small fortune in gas. I told myself at that time I would just drive the car and leave it alone. [rolleyes]

Well that lasted about 18 months. I joined the board a few months ago. After researching about the many modifications that are possible with the new generation car, I decided that a few changes were needed.[deviltail]

20 years ago I would not think twice about firing up the air compressor, breaking out the impact tools, multiple cases of beer[cheers] and spend an entire weekend "fixing"(this is what I would tell the wife) the car. I'm 44 years old now and let's just say I no longer have the time or the body for these type of "repairs".[bawling]

So yesterday, I left the car in the hands of Steeda Autosports in Pompano Beach, FL. Besides manufacturing the parts, they also do installations at their locations in Pompano and in Valdosta, GA. It's "spa" treatment included the Steeda CAI kit, Steeda Lowering Springs, Steeda Rear Sway Bar and Magnaflow exhaust. At the same time they mounted my new rims and tires which were purchased at Discount Tire Direct, then performed a wheel alignment. A few hours later it was done and ready for a test drive![grinking]

Dario Orlando was in the store yesterday and took me on the test ride. All I can say is WOW! What a difference! The car feels so much more "alive". It drives like it is on rails. The drop springs give the car a much better look. The exhaust has a nice, mellow tone that makes it sound so much better. No drone at high way speeds, which is important for a middle age man that drives 65 miles round trip daily.

The crew at Steeda did a top notch job! Everything was so clean! They inspected the car before it went into the shop and after it was finished. I looked all around the car and not one fingerprint could be found on anything they had installed. They even removed all the shipping tape and residue on the tires! Gus, the manager kept giving me progress reports, as Matt, the technician, worked on the installation. Thank you again![thumb]

I'll post a couple of more of better quality later. All she needs now is a tune, when it becomes available.[dunno]

Thanks again to the crew at Steeda! They did a fantastic job. Now to have a little fun![driving]
