Question about doing a writeup/how to
 

I'm doing a how to, and I've broken it down in to 2-3 parts, but only the first part is written (it's raining here & I don't have a garage to work in - damn apartment complexes, lol).

The first part is a list of all materials, tools & hardware that was used.
The second part is going to be the actual install.

With that said, is it permissible for the author to post the first part of their write up, then "reserve" the second/third post spot for any updates or the actual install?

Just start a build thread. When you do more or add more keep posting it in your thread. That way people can see your progress, & you can give & take ideas.

I would agree with Felix. Make a build thread with everything you've done/ plan on doing to your car, then when you finish a project, as long as it's very well documented (pictures and stuff), you can make another thread with the How-To for the specific task. You can never have enough How-To's or Build Thread's anyways.

Thanks guys - I wasn't sure if reserving second/third post spots were against the rules, so I just documented each step in notepad, and then when I was ready, I copied/pasted each step as it's own post/reply.
