Remapped...

Hi, I remapped my 1.6 150ps ecoboost this week using the Bluefin device from Superchips http://www.mybluefin.co.uk/ , the car now has 193ps and 261Nm torque. It cost me 360+p&p and I did it all myself and was hassle free and straight forward. The car now is transformed and is very quick with 6th gear acceleration being excellent for overtaking, it also seems to bring out the best in the chassis. I could have gone higher with another company, over 200ps, however I felt that might be pushing the transmission a bit too high.

Nice! And with the little engine too. Sweet! It will be interesting to see what your fuel usage will be now compared to pre-remap, eh?

That's cool that there is support for the normal non ST Focus over in Europe, but here no one is tuning the standard non turbocharged 2.0L gasoline direct injected engine and that is frustrating us and preventing us from gaining more from the mods that some have already made to the air intake and exhaust systems of the car.

Damn there's nothing for my 1.6...

Lets see the dyno sheet. Otherwise its purely speculation.

Hi, have you got the 1.6 diesel or the petrol as there is little point to remapping non turbo engines as there is little gain. However for the 1.6 diesel there is this company who can take the car up to 138bhp and 220ftlbs. http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/

Hi, I went on a 'spirited' drive yesterday and the worst I got was 28mpg so I am actually expecting an increase.

Hi, not sure if you'll be able to see this but here goes, power curve:

It came out nicely and shows a substantial increase. Nice to see that the curve is consistent with the original specs as well.

Hi, the power curve was the first thing I went to before purchasing the remap, I needed to know that the power and torque was coming in as low as the original tune and it was broadly spread across the rev range. I certainly haven't been disappointed, and the noise it makes seems much better, not that it was bad, and has that low growl. Perhaps I should record it....
