ZX3 Black Top
 

Is anyone one this forum using the Ford M-6049-ZX3-P racing head? I was interested to here what the opinions were regarding this head compared to the Massive head.

If anyone has a good used or new M-6049-ZX3-P head that is still maintaining the 47.7cc chambers I would be interested in the purchase of one.

I'm in the process of installing a Massive head on my Zetec 3 Blacktop now. Can't comment on the Ford head but might provide feedback in a few weeks how the Massive compares to stock in a Seven.

I do a good bit of Caterham work with the SVT , Zetec and Duratec engines in the Caterham , I have build and dynoed the FR Head and the Massive and my opinion is if you can get a FR Head then buy it , it works well and with the same engines built with ITB`s there wasnt enough diff for the massive head

The enging having ITB`s make better HP / TQ to the wheels then the stock intake and I was thinking the massive would make more power but it didnt

sdaddy the only way you will know 100% what the head is gaining would be if you go back with EVERYTHING stock but the port work , stock cams , compression , stock non adj cam gears etc , If your adding compression , cams , adj cam gears thats about 20+ HP gain right there so there would be no way to tell what the head (port work) is doing , interested to see how it does

Tom, you're right, of course. While my past engine had ITBs, header and adj cam gears, since the C/R and cams are changing at the same time as the head, there's no way to tell the individual impact each has on HP and TQ.
