rear wheel bearing
Im needing to replace the pass. side rear wheel bearing on my 2000 SE w/antilock brakes.
Ive read you can buy the drum with the bearing already pressed in the drum which makes the job fairly simple. Ive called the local parts stores and there saying i have to buy the bearing or the hub assy. ? Can anyone give me some advice on how this is suppose to be done and where to get the parts without going to the dealer ? I looked up the drum w/bearing on Rock Auto and it shows all models except the SE.... thanks !! |

Remember some of these stores call the SE a ZX4, because that's what it changed to. I've had that problem before.

Figures the one store i didnt check was Oreillys.. LOL.. thanks !!
Is it safe to re-use the axle nut or do i need to get another from the dealer ?? |
you should be able to re-use it.
|
cool.. thanks
|
Remember to move the tone ring for the ABS from the old drum to the new one :-)
|
Thanks Nil.. i will :)

Reuse nut but make sure it pulls up to torque correctly, you'll feel it give if it's failing. I use them once or several times based on that. Make sure you hit the full torque number, simply very tight there don't cut it, you'll be walking in a week and get to do it over.............175-200ft.lbs. works fine.
