Im new and just 17. I have a 2001 ford focus se sedan automatic transmission. Andi want to know if you can put a svt manual transmission in it. Please help me figure out if i can.

why do you want the six speed?

I just feel it would be able to give the torque I'm looking for...but I'm new to this so I'm just thinking about it...would the normal five speed be better...because I'm looking to fully build my engine hopefully.

I'd pass on that & put the money into the motor. As the Getrag trans is a awesome piece it was built for the low torque svtf. And try finding parts for it.

I agree. Unless you are going to do a full swap, or go boosted, there really isnt going to be much gain in going 6speed vs. 5speed. And frankly, I would build up the engine first and wory about the tranny last. The Auto can handle much of the power you can build out of the engine after a tune anyway.
