License Plate light

Is there an inline linkable fuse to the license plate. I just purchased my 01 Focus SE and found water in the passenger side light case. I replaced the lights (drained the water) and checked fuses in the fuse box and still no license plate light. Any help would be appreciated.

My guess is that the electrical contacts are all corroded from being wet.

Are the license plate lights tied in with the taillights or have thier own separate fuse?

No. Corrosion in that circuit is common due to the reason you describe.
Both left and right lights share a common ground. The black wire from both lights meet at a splice and are grounded by a single lead within the tailgate. Check that ground.

Also check you are seeing 12V at the orange and black wire (with the side lights on). It's a common feed also; left (driver's side) light main power wire feeds right (passenger's side) light via a short secondary orange/black wire..

Separate fuse 62 - 7.5A

Edit: Whoops, sorry, Ford only fused that circuit separately starting in 2002.
