Blackout taillight covers for '08 SES??
Does anyone know where I can find some black out tail light covers? I know I have the option to tint or spray tint, but someone told me about some covers that you can get to go over your tail lights. Do these exist for a car like mine? I can't seem to google anything up.

I am on the website right now, but should I be looking at those black covers (I don't want them completely blacked out, I just want them smoked really) or am I supposed to be looking at that easy adhesive stuff that's supposed to go on really easily?

Nevermind, I had a blonde moment.. Thanks!!

laminex is a thick film to be applied like tint. give a protective aspect to the lights from cracking. not bad to install, just take your time. they are pretty much impossibly to remove though (easier to just get a new set of lights.
niteshade is spray on tint and will allow you to get whatever darkness you want depending on how much you put on it. |
Nightshade requires sanding and polishing if you want it to look right. Otherwise it will be dull and trashy looking.
Also, don't tint your taillights. It is a safety hazard and likely not street legal. |
that is a good point to keep in mind. in some states it is illegal to tint your lights at all. others must have a certain level of visibility to remain legal. check local laws to know for sure. and yeah the niteshade will turn out matte and may not be even without some finishing work to make it shine. that 's just personal preference. I like the flat look on mine, but others prefer it to have more of a gloss finish.

I think the smartest thing for you to do would be to buy some SES "Black chrome" taillights on Ebay. You get the smoked look with the visibility and safety of an OE taillight.
ultimately, it'll be cheaper than a fix-it-ticket. |
