SNK delete, 2.5" Custom Race magnaflow exhaust.

I seem to be dipping into the "baby redline" every shift @ WOT, this is acceptable correct? car makes a great little whoosh sound while shifting.

Does this "baby redline" event occur on a stock car? I failed to notice, car only has 1700 miles on it, and has been running AMSOIL since 1200.

Thanks in Advance,

TCOC

What is "baby redline"? [scratch]

TCOC rel1 11-04-2012 07:28 AM

like 6,750 RPM, the lines are red, but smaller than the actual redline at 7K.

I can't remember seeing it hit 6750 rpm until after I installed the Borla and installed the X-Stream Air Filter K&N Filters RX-4870 with trim ring support mod. It does pull better.

TCOC rel1 11-04-2012 10:35 AM

yea so the 6,750 redline is OK with mods?

Stock car hits about 6500 rpm at redline/ prior to shift, not 6750. Although I don't have the precise number as I'm not normally driving in test mode with the digital tach displayed. Now you don't want to be hitting this at every shift or even all the time as you'll put extra wear on the car, but hell its your choice and you can do what you want with it.

2012-2013 focus specs

160 hp @ 6500
146 tq @ 4450

useless to shift at 6750rpm . shifting at 5.5k-6k will be better and, don't shift at very high rpm with a brand new car ;) wait until 6-7k miles

You miss understood me. My DCT car is now shifting @ 6,750 RPM @ WOT instead of 6500 since I had the exhaust put on.
