Nissan Pathfinder - dead to me
seriously what is this crap? there's no reason for it to be called a pathfinder anymore. looks like a damn Quest or something.

Nissan Quest makes love to xterra... this is the outcome..?

I have to say, I really like it! If you want the serious 4x4 capabilities, buy an Xterra. But in order to stay competetive, Nissan really needed a competitor for the explorer/traverse market.

Plus this is the underpinnings for the Infiniti JX, which is one of the best looking SUVs currently made imo.

Xterra's are pretty beast off-road....especially the newer ones with their fancy super cool suspension....I used to own one.. got rid of it for the SVTF. but yeah...this is hideous!!

Even the last gen Pathfinder wasn't finding paths much past the mall parking lot so not so much a shock to me.

cbdallas 10-31-2012 01:17 PM Nissan wants to look like Toyota. RIP.

no, at least the Pathfinders competitor (the 4runner) still has a body on frame construction and is excellent off road.

if someone added the photos to my post, thanks... I was just being lazy :)

Oh my. That front end is hideous. It looks like a Hyundai from the side. I'm not quite sure what the designers were trying to achieve. The older Pathfinders looked WAY better.

I don't see Quest? The Quest is absolutely, positively hideous. This new Pathfinder is just sort of... surprisingly bland and conformist, considering how radical most of Nissan's newer designs have looked. Maybe they didn't want to risk it on a bread and butter vehicle like the Pathfinder.

The reality is most people are taking kids to school in these things, and the school is not at the top of Mt. Fuji. So I'm not surprised. The market of potential buyers who want a real, off-road capable, SUV (and all the ride/handling issues that come with it) is small. Having said that, were I in the market, I'd either get a real SUV or, if I wanted something car-like... a car. Imagine that.

I'm a sucker for the first-gen 1980s Pathfinder. I grew up in the 80s and all those boxy designs with sharp edges that people these days scoff at, look awesome to me. I wish I still had my "origami" Mk. I MR2.

IMO all the newer Nissans they are coming out with are downright hideous. This is no exception.
