Creaking Door Hinge
So lately my driver door stopper hinge created a creak sound near the base at the frame of the car. Not sure it's loose or welding of the frame got weak. Anyone else have an issue like this? Thinking on bringing the car in over the Thanksgiving holiday.

ive noticed mine started doing this once the cold came but it could just be its breaking in or maybe some lithium grease would help also. although taking it in is wise if it isnt broke just try some grease first and see if that fixes it. just my 2cents...

I have the creaking sound too. Took it to the dealer and said "it was normal". They showed me a brand new ford edge with the same sound[scratch] Tried and put some lithium white grease on it and it didn't work.

Spray the hinges with WD40. All door hinges tend to start squeaking as the age and used more. Give them some lube and they should quit down.

Took mine to the dealer twice to fix this and still no go. They actually replaced some parts in the process

Ironically, my FF has EXACTLY the same squeak now, and there is no amount of grease or lube that will make it go away. I guess that I am glad that it is a pretty common issue. I doubt the door will fall off, so I will not worry much about it going forward. This is just another small example of marginal fit and finish that most of us have come to expect with automotive manufacturing in the United States. |

Mine started creaking intermittently a few weeks ago but now it does it all the time. I haven't been to the dealer yet but I wonder what they would say. Another member of the forums had this problem and was quoted $3000 CDN to get it fixed...

Mines been doing it for a year. Soaking it in wd40 or other lubes did nothing. Its not loud either but it just doesnt sound right.

Well I finally did a video of it in case anyone else was wondering. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbDvdwREkag and part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i4e26GkcDE It's very strange, on extremely humid days it goes away. It's also literally coming from where the door strap is bolted to the frame and is amplified within the pillar. As you can see they already tried to quite it down with the grease there, but that was the day I took it in which we had intense dense fog and it never produce a sound that day. Taking the car back in later this month since apparently the driver's door speaker was blown somehow and that was the cause with all the rattles. O_o
