How do I retrofit my 2002 ZX3 headlights?
I have a DDM 4500K HID kit already, just installed a few days ago. That was only temporary for having the HIDs in the stock housings. Now since I have the HID kit, and every thing all I need is the Morimoto H1 minis. I'm going to be buying the SVT style housings. I want to know how do I actually retrofit them. What's all the modifications will I have to do? Does any one know who can retrofit them for me if I decide not to do it my self in the Conroe, Texas area?
Please give me a list of every thing I need, and how to modify the lights? |
You can go to YouTube and get an idea from there is not to difficult, some rtv , dremmel and an oven

I want to know is there any modification needed with my 2002 headlight? Also does the shroud need to be trimmed in order to fit? I want the Gatling gun.

im actually doing this soon too. far as i know the gatling guns should be fine in our huge housings. not 100% sure but you should be fine.

Get the morimoto mini h1 5.0. The projector is pretty simple as it should just fit in the already existing hole. If not then there is would only be a tiny bit to dremel out. It has a threaded system to lock it in place. Pretty straightforward and simple. If you want the shrouds flush you may need to trim a little. Just test fit the shrouds first to see how you like them and go from there. And why spend the money on buying the black housings. They're the same as stock except they're black. You still have to crack them open. I would just use your stock ones and paint the insides black and polish the lenses. Would look brand new practically and save you some $$$. Unless yours are trashed.

Im doing the same when I crack em open, just priming and throwing down some black paint on everything to black em out, and just have a nice chrome shroud covering em. should look sick. hope to do it soon, just gotta buy it all still
