Man that catless system sounds DIRTY! :) Especially like how you can hear the turbo better.

Sonic_HedgeHog 01-04-2013 09:36 PM

Not real impressed... Could sound so much better. Tail pipe leaves so much to be wanted...

Why not go bigger than 2 1/2"???

jdubhack 01-04-2013 09:37 PM

Needs MOAR bigger!

RonMaiden 01-04-2013 09:38 PM

Bigger isn't always better and 2.5 might be optimum for that setup.

Stock is 2.5". Most aftermarket (FSWerks, Borla, Magnaflow) are offering 3". They just missed the boat.

Magnaflow is 2.5 not 3!

This! But I'm pretty sure buschur sells their catless downpipe seperate from the exhaust. So 3" catless DP + 3" FSWerks catback would probably = awesomeness!

Here's Buschur's rational behind using 2 1/2" vs. 3":

1. A 3" weighs more.
2. A 3" costs more.
3. The ST's engine will never produce enough power that upping to 3" from 2 1/2" is worth what you give up in weight and cost.

I dynoed my Eclipse and with a +1 size turbo up from stock I had a 2.5" turbo back setup and I swapped over to a full 3" and saw zero gains til I went up another size turbo and was pushing near 400 at the crank and then the 3" size was actually worth it.
