How to unprogram a programmed remote?

Hi,

I have a 2000 Ford Focus, I purchased an additional keyfob from ebay and programmed it for the car so my old key and additional both can open the doors (I didnt programme the imboliser).

I also have a 2001 Ford Fiesta which the key was intended for but tested it on my car first. So I did the program on the fiesta now when you lock and unlock the additional keyfob both cars lock/unlock!! This is a major problem for me as the cars will usually be parked within 5-10 meters from one another.

I've taken the battery out over night but both cars still seem to remember the key fob.

Does anyone know how to force the focus to loose its memory of just the additional key. I've tried a reprogram on the original remote but that didnt work.

Thanks,
Chris

the way to fix is this to reprogram the car which you do not want to use the remote for.

Example -- you want new remote for the focus, leave it as is.

now, follow reprogramming guide for fiesta and use a different remote for it. Problem should be fixed now.

the programming is not in the remote, it is in the controller in the car. The remote is only designed to give off one signal while the car will accept up to four.

Im confused by that - the original focus remote opens the focus. The original fiesta remote was broken that opens the fiesta. The spare remote from e**y I tested by programming into the focus, then when we got the fiesta programmed it into that. So the spare remote that is really the fiesta's remote is opening both the focus and fiesta. There must be a way for security to get the focus to forget any learned remotes but the ones in sequence. ie. think about if someone stole the keys, the sequence in the manual didnt work. I think its something todo with the control lights as I dont know what is the control lights (unless they mean the dashboard lights), as it doesnt go off after 5 seconds.

Thanks,
Chris
