How to unprogram a programmed remote?
Hi,
I have a 2000 Ford Focus, I purchased an additional keyfob from ebay and programmed it for the car so my old key and additional both can open the doors (I didnt programme the imboliser). I also have a 2001 Ford Fiesta which the key was intended for but tested it on my car first. So I did the program on the fiesta now when you lock and unlock the additional keyfob both cars lock/unlock!! This is a major problem for me as the cars will usually be parked within 5-10 meters from one another. I've taken the battery out over night but both cars still seem to remember the key fob. Does anyone know how to force the focus to loose its memory of just the additional key. I've tried a reprogram on the original remote but that didnt work. Thanks, Chris |

Did this but programmed remote was still able to unlock/lock doors.
It did say something about control lights unsure what this means tho... |
the way to fix is this to reprogram the car which you do not want to use the remote for.
Example -- you want new remote for the focus, leave it as is. now, follow reprogramming guide for fiesta and use a different remote for it. Problem should be fixed now. the programming is not in the remote, it is in the controller in the car. The remote is only designed to give off one signal while the car will accept up to four. |
