03 SVT ticking?.....
 

My 03 SVT has a ticking noise on idle... Are the SVT motors a bit loud on idle? I do have a bad motor mount, (front passenger). I will be replacing the mount tomorrow or monday, but I am kinda nervous about the noise, oil
Level is good. Also I had a coolant line break, no overheating, but how do I burp the coolant system on this car? Sorry I just got it yesterday.

Mine has a tick off idle on a cold starts. Once its warmed up it stops tho

have you replaced your mount yet? mine made a ticking noise at idle and slow acceleration but if floored it (engine rotated) and stopped ticking. but down hills and other odd angles it would return. replaced the motor mount. issue resolved. so if you know you need a new mount replace it first then see if its still ticking. its amazing how much noise a bad mount can make. my check engine light even came on saying that my engine was knocking. why? because it was making a ticking noise and that's exactly what the knock sensor picks up. replace that mount and let us know if its still acting up. maybe you'll be lucky with the same problem i had with a simple solution.

Well replaced passenger side mount, still making noise, just not as often. It seems to come and go.... Could I need a valve adjustment? Im pretty sure my driver side mount is bad too

I wanna hear it, hopefully we can get a meet set up.

If you think your other mount is also bad, that could be it. but its hard to say. A video with the sound would help. so many sounds it can make. and trying to describe the sound with text only goes so far.

when the clicking is there, is your heater on? put it at 0 and listen. on idle.

Nope not with the heater.. Just replaced the rest of the motor mounts with steeda mounts, and the rattling only happens when I have my foot off the clutch when idling. I'm thinking maybe a shift linkage rattling? I'm really not sure. Doesn't seem to affect the performance or driveability. Is the power steering a problem in this car? Sometimes it's really stiff when it's cold. The fluid is up and I can find any leaks.
