30,000 mile Brake Service?
Wanted to get your thoughts...
Called my dealership and asked about any reccomended 1yr/30k mile service. One of the things they mentioned that they were going to do was take apart the calipers and clean them out to ensure that they lasted for a long time. Is this a legitimate service to perform around 30k miles? Or are they essentially trying to get me to buy a "blinker fluid flush" (take me as a fool). Thanks in advance! |
If you have money burning a hole in your pocket I guess you could do it, otherwise have that service done when you do your next brake job. If they're currently in good shape, it can wait until then.

Only an idiot would take apart a non leaking caliper. Even if it's Ford.
If the car has no braking issues then there is no need for 30K service at all in my view. |
