Ford Focus ZX3 Disassembling the base shifter tower ('base shifter plate')

Hello.

My base shifter plate has cracked, and is completely severed in x3 locations. I have successfully disassembled it from the vehicle.
What I'd like to know is: How do you disassemble the actual rod, and springs from the tower? And how would you install it to a new tower?

Thanks! I haven't a clue. There doesn't appear to be any screws.
Although there is some plastic piece over a ball and socket joint (on the right side).. There's no way to access it.

I'm confused. You managed to undo the cables to remove the shifter base, but don't know how to put it back together?

The round bits on the cable, twist the plastic nuts in opposing directions to loosen them.
The cable ends are a ball and socket. Pry to remove and push with force to instal.

Oh wait, I got what you're saying now.
How do you remove the shift lever.

Pull.
The black portion is a rubber gasket of sorts. Underneath it is a 2 piece hunk of plastic that acts like a bushing for the shift lever.

OK! I tried pulling straight up on it. But there's still something holding it together.
I'm assuming the spring has something going through the center. How do you properly remove that?
Do you just take a flathead screw driver, and pop off the plastic spirally thing (opposite of the metal plating; By 1st/2nd gear)?

Thanks for the answer, by the way. I'd like to get this solved before work tomorrow.

Been a while since I took one apart ...
That flower looking thing on the opposite side, I think it has to come off. IIRC, the petals have to be spread a bit and then it pulls off. A socket might works well here.
Then that arm should pull out and the lever up.

I just don't recall having to do any of this though. IIRC mine had a C clip I pulled and everything came apart.
I'll go look in a bit here.

Yea. The grey plastic 'flower' petals snap off every time I try bending them backwards, off the metal hump. I don't believe they're supposed to do that.
I hardly put any stress on them too. There are now two (teeth) missing.

I'm not sure what C-clip you're referring to. See the image above.

Sadly, I am unable to edit the title of my thread to pre-append "[SOLVED]," however: I can still post a reply (like this):

The problem is solved. I have successfully changed it. I still can not find any information on it, on Google/other vehicle forums.

Here is my contribution to the internet in regards to this information (since it is not freely out there yet)!
These are very short (~2 minute long) "How to" tutorials I created an hour or two ago.
