eagle eye projectors seem dim
 

Hey does anyone else feel there projectors are dim? I have a set of DDMtuning *slim kit* in the eagle eye housings. I did the mod thing to get the cutoff flat 2 screw version, but they don't seem bright at all. Going through some back country roads in hilly areas is very problematic because I cant see anything in front of me. Stock housings seemed brighter IMO.

They are just halogen style projectors, so putting HIDs in them doesn't help all that much cause the beam sucks.

yyeaahh my cut offs look like the 2nd pic with hids.

how many watts is your hid kit? i know all the slim ones (which i have also)that i came across are 35w. the normal ones are 55w. i have noticed that mine aren't as bright as they should be, but that's because of the wattage. there are a few threads around here that show some good pics. and also my cutoff is like the 2nd pic too:)

i have 55w 6k bulbs and my cut off is close to the 2nd picture

and does any one have alink to the 2 washer method???

Found my fix while I was looking for the link to the washer mod. Some eagle eyes the washer mod isin't needed. See this thread and what turned out to be my issue as well.


If you need the washer spacers check out this specifically pages 10 and 11.

When I installed I just assumed I needed the washer mod. Test before mod! :)

my projectors are a straight line with no mod and with Morimoto equipment. =]

Mine are actually surprisingly bright, MUCH more than stock and look alot like the projectors in that bottom pic. No hid's or anything like that. I dont know if theres any difference in who you bought them from and all that, seeing how theyre all the same thing. The only thing i really had to do was adjust the cutoff up some because theyre pointed pretty low out of the box.

i have 55 watts and still wish i had more cowbell. errr i mean light.
