Turbo Timer

Anyone have a turbo timer installed?? If so which kind do you have. I'm thinking of installing one on my 09. Mike (Blue 09 sedan w/ gold engine bay) has an APEXi timer installed on his. He said it works well. I'm just trying to get some more opinions.

U vdont need. One unless you are racing. Just when your done. Driving. Sit there in neutral for bout 10 to 20 seconds for the oil to circulate back in the seals then turn it off. I have a greddy turbo timer for sale if u want it

Be your own turbo timer. Stay out of boost for the last minute of driving, and you've already cooled it down as much as a turbo timer would. Cruising around a parking lot in search of a space, or driving down the street to your house is accomplishing the same thing.

I have been driving turbo charged cars continuously since 1985 and have accumulated almost 700,000 miles between (4) cars. My current one had only 120,000 so far. I have never had a turbo failure.

Unless I was running hard in boost for an extended time immediately before stopping I have not treated the motor any differently than a non turbo. After running hard I would let the motor idle for 30 seconds or so before shutting off the engine.

There is no real need for a turbo timer IMHO.

I was just coming into this section for probably the first time ever to ask what people's thoughts were on turbo timers lol..

Glad I found this thread.
