Proper shifting/clutch

I just recently purchased a FF SE, and I've never driven a car with a dual clutch transmission before...my question is, unlike normal manual transmissions, do I have to press the clutch down all the way to the floor when shifting, or can I just press it down to the catching/power point?

Thanks for any help! Love the car ;)

If you have a clutch pedal then you don't have the dual clutch gearbox...

I really don't understand what are you saying.
if you have dual-clutch then you DON'T HAVE CLUTCH PEDAL

Really!? The salesperson kept telling me how the new transmission was a DCT...so, it's just a standard manual transmission?

Yeah, same gearbox that's been in the Focus since they came out.

The dual clutch is the automatic transmission (Ford calls it Powershift).

Salesmen at dealerships don't know shit about the cars they sell...

Wow. Thanks for the quick replies...and the information. I really appreciate it!

To shift it properly, you have to fully depress both clutch pedals.

...then there is a 4th pedal too.

The manual transmission is a standard single clutch MTX-75 built in Germany. This has a single clutch pedal and can be driven in a manner consistent with a plain manual transmission.

The "automatic" transmission is a dual clutch automated manual transmission where the car's transmission control computer controls the shifting and the clutching, but maintains the direct connected feel to the driveline of a manual transmission rather than a sloppy fluid coupling/ torque converter to get in the way.
