2002 spi engine replacement
 

I am looking for a 2.0L spi engine for my 2002 Focus. Is there a difference between the 2.0L split port engine in the Focus and the one in the Escort? Is the engine the same from 97 to 2002? I am just looking for options for finding an engine. It looks like it may be as cheep to buy a complete escort with the 2.0L spi engine as buy an engine from a wrecking yard. I just need to know if the escort and the Focus long block will interchange.

I just did a search, I believe that in 2000 the block changed. The 2000-2002 escort used to same spi 2.0 block as the 2000-2004 focus spi though.
