2012 Focus aftermarket Deck install question.

Hey guys Im new to the forum and this is my first post. Im upgrading my system in my 2012 Focus and I purchase this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-99-5827B.html with the proper antenna and wiring harness... However after the install everything works great the deck is perfect and the kit fits just right, but the lights on the kit stay on all the time... Even when the car is shut off and the keys are removed... Has anyone here installed one of these and run into the same issue? If so what was the solution... I have had to unplug the unit now so that my battery wouldnt get drained, however now I do not have access to my hazard lights or my lock/unlock button.

Moved to Car Audio and Electronics--- this forum will probably yield the best answer.

Anyone have any advice/ideas?

The lights stay on for 3-5 minutes and go out leaving only the LED for the locked doors lit on my install. I used the Metra dash kit with the Metra XSVI-5524-nav wiring harness with the Axxess ASWC steering wheel control kit. Works great with a Pioneer AVH-4400BH 7" stereo and DEQ-7600. I had the base stock (crappy) stereo and the new stereo with the 4V preouts makes a lot of difference with the Alpine and Alfasonic amps,,,

Did you solve this problem with the buttons staying lit? I have the same problem.

I'm pretty sure that they stay on for about the same amount of time that the 12v power ports stay powered up, ~5 mins. I do not think that there is any way to change this short of hacking up the wiring harness plug to remove the stock power wire and replace it with an ignition switched power source. Sounds like way more trouble than it's worth.

I'm pretty sure the buttons don't stay lit always. Park your car, lock your doors, and come back out to your car in ~15 mins to see if the buttons are still lit or not. My hunch is that they won't be.

I unplugged the connector to the metra dash and left it overnight, doors unlocked and drivers window down. I came out this morning, leaned in through window, did not touch door handle and plugged connector back into dash and the buttons were still lit. I will plug in stock ford dash to see if there is something wrong with harness or if it is with the metra dash.

I plugged in the factory dash and the lights in the dash went off as expected.
