How to modify canister for 255lph walbro
 
I have searched around and cannot find the direct answer as to how people are modding the canister to use a walbro 255.. Has anyone actually installed a 255 and had problems sucking the basket dry? I see easily the 255 will fit in the canister but whats the best way to make sure the pump has a good constant supply of fuel... Any input is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

The only way to do this is to put more holes in the canister , by doing this you have to keep the tank over half full or you will move the fuel away from the canister and still have the pump dry

How much power are you making now and how much are you going for

Do a return fuel system and a fuel cell would be your best bet

You can run a single hangar pump setup with the stock tank and be fine. Just don't go below 3/8 of a tank or you could dry out pump. I've tried running mine at a 1/4 tank and on the 2nd to 3rd shift it started bucking from fuel psi loss. But at 3/8 tank (lowest Ill go) it runs fine on my car.

I dunno man...thats what i dont want happening. it scares the hell outta me...you put all this money in the motor and everything else...its gonna be some halfass design that could ruin it all

You are correct , do a return fuel system / fuel cell , it works I have done a few fuel cell return systems and its the only SAFE way to do it and do it right

By the time you buy the hanger , pump , lines and fuel rail for that your only a few hundred away from doing it right

Doing it right can be perceived differently. Fuel cell equals car smells like fuel, have to pop the trunk to fill up, unusable trunk space since there a fuel cell in there. To each there own. There about 15 people out there running fuel pump hangar like my car that don't have problems. Up to you tho keep it above 3/8 tank and never have to worry

Plus the safety factor of having a 10gal tank in the trunk isn't to smart of its a street car.
