Never mind..... Brain Fart. Why is it called a lunchbox though?

I guess I dont know the exact answer, but im guessing its because its big and metal like old lunchboxes. When I was in elementary school (im 20 now) I had a metal hotwheels lunchbox. lol

Hahaha I was just wondering the same thing. I want to know why people are cutting there's off and running a straight pipe? What's the benefit?

When I did that, it basically just made the car louder. IM not sure for your car (since mine is so much older) but it was so insanely quiet. So I went to the local exhaust shop and they replaced the lunchbox with a straight pipe and put a tip on it for cheap. I didnt really notice any gains. Maybe +1 or so mpg. But in combination with a header, I noticed a huge difference. I am now getting 35 mpg easily and noticed an increase in acceleration a bit.

I'm planning on taking mine off. If anyone wants to take theirs off i would suggest a straight pipe. Flex tubing rusts quick and will not allow your car to pass e-check (in ohio) [werd]

Just posted something about sound baffles but, I just removeed mine off the stock air filter and it made the engine sound like a real car haha

So will the car pass emissions if the lunch box is taken off?

I believe it will if you put a straight pipe in its place.
